Thousands of runners and walkers, determined
to stomp out breast cancer, marched through Central Park on Sunday,
September 10, 2006 in the Komen New York City Race for the Cure.
Led by 14 women on Harleys in pink T shirts and feather boas,
and warmed by a bright sun and cloudless blue sky, the crowd ran
(or strolled) with a single goal: to beat breast cancer. The funds
raised from the Race will be used toward screening, education
and treatment, in addition to medical research. Teens for the
Cure, a team consisting of fifty young women organized by Jamie
Rosen, raised over $5,000 just at the race alone!!
